About Supa-Rev Racing

I am Steve Wockner, the owner/driver of the Awakening Altered. I am also an ordained Lutheran Pastor currently pastoring the Ipswich East Lutheran Parish. As well as this, I am passionate about drag racing.

After moving to Ipswich, I was taken by a friend to the drags at Willowbank raceway just outside of Ipswich.With the sight, smell, noise and power of the drag racing cars, I was hooked. I soon became a regular at the track.

Being a petrol head from the past I felt a very strong urge to get on the other side of the fence and do some drag racing. Some Christian friends encouraged me to go drag racing and to use it as an opportunity to reach out into the community.

The children of Westside Christian College in Goodna, Brisbane enjoyed a visit from Steve and his car. The preschool teacher, Kerry Manson, was keen to go for a spin around the parking lot! Schools are a wonderful place for outreach of this kind.

The Konica Winternationals at Willowbank last June represented our first major meeting We ran a 10.92 and we were knocked out in the first round. Nevertheless, we had qualified!!!

Our second major meeting was the Winter Finals in July and we ran a 10.82. These times have come after 2 years of development and building of the car. It has been a long hard road with lots of learning from mistakes along the way and much waiting for money to become available.
